Mahale Mountains National Park

Trekking through Mahale Mountains National Park on foot was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and one I won’t likely ever forget. Tracking and photographing chimpanzees, often with them coming right up and looking into your eyes, I was drawn to how familiar so many of their facial expressions are to our own. The whole experience is elevated by a remoteness so great and beautiful that you feel as if you are on another planet.
